History, art and traditions

The origins of the town of Bergamasco date back to before the year One Thousand. From 1000 AD and for almost five centuries it belonged to the Marquisate of Incisa, then it came under the rule of the Paleologo family, Marquises of Monferrato, to the then go to the Gonzaga-Nevers family of Mantua, until 1708 and from then on it was part of the Savoy realm. The marquises of Incisa themselves were Barons until 1514, then the Marquis Perboni of Oviglio, the Marquis Peretti, and lastly from 1662, the Marquis Moscheni.
